With time comes change... and change will impact everything. Do not get too comfortable with how the world is now Etherborn... for change is an unstoppable force. I sense that it will impact us all soon...

⏳ Changes to Endure
From the beginning, Etherscape has had the core philosophy of being built for sustainability. We are creating a game that is designed to endure over time in every way. This impacts everything including the player driven economy, game systems designed for expansion and even what technologies we choose to build on. Our March release is focused on key changes looking to the future of what will enable Etherscape to deliver more than ever to our players.
The most obvious changes are in our brand new in game look. However, behind the scenes it goes much deeper. We have upgraded our technology stack and replace several legacy pieces with the latest and greatest. This includes upgrading to Unity 6, Netcode 2.2 and the Universal Render Pipeline. It also includes restructuring our projects so that we can add more members to the team!
🎨 Brand New Look
Almost every environment texture has been refinished to create a significantly more immersive game world. Along with the new textures, we have migrated all of our lighting and shaders to Unity's Universal Render Pipeline. This has enabled us to create a carefully crafted style that will take gameplay to the next level. The new tools will also enable us to iterate faster and add new content for players to enjoy more easily.

The visual upgrade is about more than just graphics though. It is about attracting the next wave of players to join the Etherscape world. Our new stylized look takes us closer than ever to being ready to launch more broadly and show the gaming world what we have to offer!
🪴 Growing the Team
You may be asking yourself how did Sam have time to redo all of these textures so fast? Well, the answer is simple, he didn't! We are excited to announce that we are actively growing the Etherscape team so that we can rapidly accelerate the amount and quality of content that we deliver to players. As the first step, we are excited to welcome Nicolas Fels (known as NotSure in game) officially to the team. Nico will be our visual director taking the forefront in doing whatever it takes to stylize Etherscape to perfection.

However, we aren't stopping with Nico. You can check out our brand-new Team page on our website to see what other positions we plan to add. Let us know if you have the skills and are interested in joining us for one of these roles...

⚒️ Working Together
February was spent focusing on core fundamentals that were critical for the future success of Etherscape. Now it is time to hunker down and focus on new gameplay content for players. You can expect our next release to be loaded up with new features that have a focus on working together as a community. Look to the east of town for a small tease about what is coming next...

👋 Conclusion
Thank you for all of your support Etherborn! We are more focused than ever on taking Etherscape to the next level, and we couldn't do it without you. We are looking forward to seeing you in game and enjoying the beauty of the Etherscape world like never before!
