Pets Join the Etherscape

Good to see you again Etherborn! We have been hard at work and have many exciting new things for you in the v0.13 release. It is packed full of pets with new utility, the expansion of the multiverse and more. Read on to learn all the details...

Pet Companions are Here đŸ¶

In the last governance proposal, the Etherborn spoke their will that pet companions should be added, unlocking new abilities. We are excited to announce that the first 2 pets (with 5 varieties in total) are live with this release. Pets are intended to open up new on chain items to collect, add new kinds of utilities for players, expand the ways to customize your characters style and to open up new ways for multiverse collaborations.

Pickup Bot to the Rescue đŸ€–

The first pet available is the much-anticipated Pickup Bot. The Pickup Bot is a helpful companion who is perfect for those OG Etherborn who really make it rain loot and get tired of always having click it to pick it up. The pickup bot will helpfully dash off to pick up that loot for you. You can grab the entry level Pickup Bot on NFT.io. To teach it to pick up higher quality items you can upgrade it in game to the Alpha and Prime version at the Etherforge.

Time to Meet Your Hop 🐰

The second pet is a collaboration with top the PFP project on Enjin... WeHop. You will now be able to have your friendly hops join you in battle. However, they aren't just friendly... they are lucky too! They will grant you magic find to help you find those legendary loot drops. There are two varieties of WeHop pets. A white hop for holding any common WeHop and an extra lucky purple hop for holding a 1/1.

Bring Along your Common or 1/1 Hop

In celebration of WeHop entering the Etherscape, we will be giving away some hops to our players. Over the next 4 weeks, the top 5 arena winners will be air dropped a WeHop into their wallet. Checkout below to see the hops that are up for winning!

New Multiverse Items ⚔

Since our last release we have added support for several new multiverse items. Cross game items and collaborations are a deep design conviction of the Etherscape and we will continue to bring our players value across the whole Enjin ecosystem!

The new items include the following...

Hey! What Killed Me? 💀

Sometimes in the heat of battle you can meet your untimely demise and not understand what happened to you. In order to help with this, we have added a damage log. It will you show you the most recent hits your character has taken, what damage amount and type they were, and how much was absorbed by your armor or resistances. It is a critical tool to help you learn and improve as you pass from life to death and back again.

Kill Those Bugs! đŸȘČ

As many of you know, the Etherscape has been plagued by a dreadful bug in the Unity Networking Transport. The team has been battling day and night to fix this bug and we are excited to announce that it is officially fixed! After our previous release there have been no reports of a repro. So, you can now "safely" risk it all for those coveted top spots in the arena. If you want to see the nitty gritty details of the investigation, you can check out the GitHub thread here.

Thank you to all of our amazing players who have helped to provide logs and detailed repro information. You are the best!

Beyond that, in our previous few releases we fixed a whole host of small bugs impacting the general gameplay.

Lifting the Quality of Life âŹ†ïž

Top players are always looking for features that can help take their game to the next level. We have recently added a few highly desired features to make gameplay more seamless for you all...

  1. Quick ability mode. Enable this to cast your ability at your cursor location without having to click again.

  2. Ally panel. This displays the health of nearby allies and allows you to click the panel to cast abilities on them.

  3. Always highlight players. Keep players nameplates showing so that you can more easily keep track of your allies during combat.

We are always listening to the players and responding based on what you want. Keep the great feedback coming!
